Formula for the Six Relations Moving
Parents moving at the head control Descendants.
Without medicine, the patient is dull and sunk.
Marriage ties and offspring are difficult to obtain.
Trade exhausts the mind without retaining profit.
Watching for a traveler, letters stir.
In official litigation, submit the petition and distinguish the merits first.
For a scholar's examination, the name enters the golden list.
Lost property and fugitives call for an appeal or suit.
Descendants moving injure Officer and Ghost.
In illness, seeking a physician brings bodily recovery.
For travelers and trade, the person is healthy and secure.
A happy marriage is a beautiful earlier affinity.
The woman in labor should give birth, and the child is easy to raise.
Litigation is settled privately without reaching the authorities.
Do not advance in visiting the powerful or seeking reputation.
I urge you to keep your place and leave it to Heaven.
Officer and Ghost have always controlled Brothers.
Marriage not yet completed encounters doubt and delay.
Illness and household calamity arrive.
Farming, silkworms, and mulberries are all unfavorable.
Going abroad or fleeing must encounter calamity.
Litigation and official disputes bring imprisonment.
Trade has little profit; gambling loses.
Lost things are hard to find, with much concealment and obscurity.
The Wealth line moving controls documents.
Taking examinations and seeking reputation are all empty.
Using capital in business is greatly favorable.
Marriage ties accord with one's wishes; medicine gives no cause for fear.
The traveler abroad is about to move.
For the woman in labor and one seeking wealth, the person is released.
Lost property rests safely and has not left the house.
The patient suffers injury to Stomach and Spleen.
Brothers crossing or heavy control Wealth.
The patient is hard to cure and not yet free of calamity.
They are an avoided visitor in seeking examination victory.
Official trouble and hidden thieves consume money.
With an auspicious spirit, there is assistance.
The traveler on the road has still not come.
Goods and commerce diminish or lose their capital.
Buying a maidservant or seeking a wife does not go harmoniously.
Formula for the Day
In asking about a hexagram, first examine the day.
The day controlling the Useful is an unwelcome companion.
If the day and Useful generate or combine with one another,
why worry about undertaking an affair?
Verse on Transformations of the Six Relations
Parents change into Parents: an Advancing Spirit promises documents.
Changing into Descendants does not injure the household's male members.
Changing into Ghost brings official promotion and advancement.
Changing into Wealth worries the household elder.
Changing into Brothers is draining qi.
Descendants changing into a Retreating Spirit leave people and wealth unsatisfactory.
Changing into Parents ruins fields and silkworms.
Changing into Wealth doubles prosperity.
Changing into Ghost brings concern over childbirth.
Changing into Brothers is called mutual generation.
Officer changing into an Advancing Spirit brings emolument;
in seeking office the response follows swiftly.
Changing into Wealth is unfavorable in illness divination.
Changing into Parents fulfills documents.
Changing into Descendants must injure Officer.
Changing into Brothers leaves the household sleepless.
Wife and Wealth changing into an Advancing Spirit bring money into the home.
Changing into Officer brings anxious sorrow.
Changing into Descendants, one answers “ha, ha.”

Brothers changing into a Retreating Spirit leave nothing to avoid in any divination.
Changing into Parents frightens concubines and servants.

Judgments in Verse on the Six Beasts
Green Dragon moving, attached to the Useful, brings success.
Increasing wealth and emolument brings endless blessings.
Meeting Hostile or Avoided influences is wholly without benefit;
calamity through drink and sensuality lies within this.
Vermilion Bird crossing or heavy makes writings and seals flourish.
With a baneful spirit beside it, effort is wasted.
Disputes and verbal conflict all come from this.
Moving forth to generate the person instead benefits public affairs.
Gouchen moving brings concern over fields and land.
When met as an Avoided influence, there are years of obstruction.
Only favorably generating the Useful is auspicious.
If still, there is no confused obscurity.
Soaring Snake with Ghost controlling brings entangling worry.
Strange dreams and hidden demons attack in darkness.
Holding Wood and falling into Void: do not call it favorable.
On the day of Clash, do not expect to escape misfortune.

White Tiger crossing or heavy brings mourning and bad affairs.
Litigation and illness must become unfavorable.
Holding Metal and moving to control harms household members.
Meeting Fire that generates the person is different.

If it meets Officer and Ghost, thieves attack together.
Favorably generating Self, evil does not trespass.
With Hostile and Avoided influences, treachery and theft are ill.
