Women's illnesses arise from deficiency, accumulated cold and bound qi, stopping menses, sometimes for years. Cold blood accumulates; the uterine gate is injured by cold; channels and networks congeal.
Above, vomiting saliva eventually becomes Lung abscess and damages form. In the middle, coiled binding causes cold-shan around navel; or pain beneath both flanks joins viscera; or heat binds within, pain at Guanyuan, rapid pulse, no sores and fish-scale skin. This sometimes affects men, not only women. Below, an unclear not-yet-many phrase accompanies irregular menses, pulling genital pain, cold lower abdomen, perhaps drawing to waist and spine and rooting below at Qi Street. Qi rushes with urgent pain; knees and shins ache. Sudden dizzy clouding resembles reversal or dian; or grief, sadness and anger arise. All are daixia, disorders below the girdle, not ghosts or spirits. Long duration wastes the body, leaves deficient pulse and much cold. Thirty-six illnesses change a thousand ways. Examine pulse yin and yang, deficiency, repletion, tightness and wiriness; apply needles and medicine to bring danger to peace. Even the same illness has differing pulse origins. Distinguish and remember; do not deny it.
