Six Ji Days at Jiazi Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days at Jiazi hour openly see Office and secretly Wealth. Support connecting monthly energy brings lifelong livelihood from Heaven.” Ji uses Jia Office, Gui Wealth and Xin Food. Zi is Heavenly-Yi Nobility; exposed Jia and hidden Gui at Zi with Xin Long Life. Supported Body and monthly connection rich/noble; without strong Body, Earth-energy fortune is also good. Jichou day/Jiazi hour nobly transforms; Wu/Yin year/month early death, Earth-energy month noble. Avoid Jiayin month violent death amid rank, Dingwei punishment, Dingchou ruined ancestry and violent death away from home. Jimao day/Jiazi hour ruins inheritance first then flourishes, or injury within flourishing. Season-ending month noble. Wu strengthens Body, Zi gathers Nobility, Hai gives Office Long Life: all greatly noble. Avoid Jisi ruin/violent death, Gengshen bloody death, Renzi punitive death. The Jisi case prints Gengzi hour: season-ending month censorial third rank, requiring Water/Wood fortune. West achieves nothing, south energy-less Wealth/Office gives empty fame/slight profit, rank without distinction. Zi/Yin year/month southeastern fortune gives distinction. The Shenbai Classic says: “Earth transformation generates blessing, but no distinction.” Avoid Renyin punishment, Yiwei injury, Guiyou early death. Jiwei day/Jiazi hour high, seated on Office Storehouse. Season-ending month auspicious; Yin/Hai flourishing Office gives brilliant writing and easy rank. Si/Chou literary rank late; Yin/Mao poor/low. Avoid Jiashen death without intact body, Bingzi solitary poverty, Dingchou punitive harm. Jiyou day/Jiazi hour with Yin, Shen, Wu, Wei, or Chou year/month literary/censorial rank; Wu month northeastern fortune highest rank. Avoid Gengyin year ruin/violent death, Jisi month harmful violence, Wuxu solitary bloody death. Jihai day/Jiazi hour in spring/summer has Wealth/Office Born and Flourishing, auspicious; autumn/winter and season-ending periods Turning Away from Emolument and Pursuing Horse, harmful. Yin month Metal/Fire fortune bureau office; Wu northeastern fortune gold-and-purple. Avoid Renyin violent death, Renshen extreme poverty and punishment, Guiyou ruin. A verse says: “Ji day gladly meeting Jiazi hour has rare Twofold Beauty of Wealth/Office. One timely wind/cloud encounter walks alone to pluck cassia in the moon palace.” Another: “Ji day/Jiazi hour transforms into thick Earth nourishing foundation. Wealth/Office assistance displays brilliance like Azure Dragon playing in Water. Without Geng Metal, Mao or Wu, Emolument and blessing arrive together. Commoners develop and act, gentlemen gain examination success.”
Translator's note: All six day case positions, every prohibited year/month, Shenbai citation and both poems remain. Gengzi in the Jisi case is not silently corrected to Jiazi. The Jiwei paragraph's opposed Yin/Hai and Yin/Mao outcomes retain their original conditions.
Six Ji Days at Yichou Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days at Yichou hour have restrained Killing, no injury. Strong Body in pillars gives honor; no help makes one busy day and night.” Exclusive Wealth meets Ghost: exposed Yi Ghost and hidden Gui Wealth at Chou. Support connecting strong Body gives rank; connected fortune auspicious. Ghost assisted and too flourishing to carry gives ordinary livelihood. Jichou day/Yichou hour has hourly Indirect Office, military command, judging territory further; Mao month Metal/Water fortune sixth/seventh rank. Jimao day/Yichou hour in Zi/Shen month with Metal/Earth fortune marquis or earl; Si, You, Chou, or Xu year/month auspicious. Jisi day/Yichou hour in Yin/Mao month is Indirect Office configuration; no You/Xu gives noble literary advancement. Jiwei day/Yichou hour clashes day/hour; wife generating Wealth is acceptable. Mao/Wu year/month Metal Spirit enters Fire, southwestern fortune noble. Chen/Xu completes season-ending Storehouses, greatly noble; Ding/Xin emerging and pure yin also noble. Jiyou day/Yichou hour in Mao Indirect Office or Chen Wealth/Killing month noble; Shen/You Complete Injury and Si/Wu Seal all noble; Chou/Xu too. Jihai day/Yichou hour in Mao month greatly noble; Shen month Water/Wood fortune censorial/regional office. A verse says: “Yichou hour with declining Body has Wealth hidden in Storehouse. No key makes distinction hard; going abroad satisfies intentions.” Another: “Ji day/Yichou hour has Depletion Ghost raising calamity within Storehouse. Ancestral property gains and loses, plans see Wealth leave and return. Xu/Wei punishment/clash develops blessing; no key means travel and moving. Parents/siblings unreliable; rescue obtains rank in a damaged Wei/middle ending.”

Six Ji Days at Bingyin Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days at Bingyin hour have hidden Office and exposed Seal strengthening Body. Monthly Wood connection without clash/disruption builds rank at Three Terraces and Eight Positions.” Ji uses Jia Office and Bing Seal; Jia flourishes and Bing is Born at Yin. No disruption with monthly Wood configuration gives great rank. Wood/Fire fortune favored, Metal/Water unsuitable; annual ruler likewise. Jichou day/Bingyin hour has spring flourishing Office, summer Seal, autumn mutual completion, winter ordinary. Chen/Xu year/month literary distinction; pure Chou long life; Xu month Wood/Fire fortune fifth/sixth rank. Jimao day/Bingyin hour with Wu/Chen year/month gives brilliant writing and great rank; Yin/Wu third rank. Jisi day/Bingyin hour punishes first, flourishes later. Yin Direct Office month literary distinction; Hai/Zi Water with Water fortune noble; pure Xu third-rank military. Shen/Hai in year/month completes Four Births, great rank or a bad end. Jiwei day/Bingyin hour in thick Earth noble; Water/Wood year/month northeastern fortune noble. Another view gives secondary birth/adoption, or father not seeing one's birth. Jiyou day/Bingyin hour with Wood/Fire configuration noble; Wood/Fire fortune also distinguished. Jihai day/Bingyin hour has spring Office rank, summer/autumn ordinary, winter flourishing Wealth auspicious. Yin, Shen, Chou, Si, Wu, Chen, or Xu year/month noble. Shenbai says: “Fire/Wood image noble.” A verse says: “Ji day/Bingyin hour is exceptional, youth unrecognized yet rich in writing. Mao fortune births a bright moon, easy ascent to imperial lands.” Another: “Ji day/Bingyin hour has Office/Seal at Long Life. Study Hall/three harmonies delight in honor, broad learning, refined intelligence. No year/month clash/disruption assures examination fame; flourishing Office fortune prospers, an upper-class noble person's fate.”

Six Ji Days at Dingmao Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days at Dingmao hour have hidden Ghost and empty Owl spirits in branches/stems. Help in pillars makes blessing; none makes distinction difficult.” Ding Seal and Yi Ghost are exposed and hidden at Mao. No year/month rescue or support gives empty refinement, success and failure. Xin restraint in month with strong Body gives rank; flourishing fortune auspicious. Jichou day/Dingmao hour with Shen–Zi–Chen gives military office; Hai–Mao–Wei honor and wealth; Si–You–Chou northeastern fortune auspicious. Jimao day/Dingmao hour with Si/You year/month has proper restraint; Gengshen combining Killing gives great literary advancement. Zi month punishment/Killing meets Nobility, military or judicial power. Pure Seal branches or three-harmony Wood, Yin fortune mixing Office and a flowing year clashing fortune gives violent death. Jisi day/Dingmao hour without clash/disruption rich/noble; Yin/Wu/Chen year/month punitive injury. Hai month Wood/Fire fortune noble. Spring with Jia/Yi emerging has excessive Office/Killing, noble with restraint/transformation, otherwise harmful early death. The next day label is printed Yiwei/Dingmao hour: rich if not noble; Mao, Xu, Hai, or Chou year/month auspicious. Jiyou day/Dingmao hour has nine successes and ten failures, late flourishing. Body Birth/Flourishing in year/month with Xin/Gui restraining Ding/Yi auspicious. Jihai day/Dingmao hour has autumn restrained Indirect Office rich/noble; spring short life, summer strong Body auspicious, winter ordinary. Season-ending month noble. A verse says: “Ji day/Mao hour naturally destroys blessing, fame/profit unsuitable. Bodily palace with punishment/conquest leaves home and travels east/west.” Another: “Ji day/Dingmao hour intertwines Reversed Food and Indirect Office. You/Geng/Xin disrupting brings a damaged wave/dregs phrase and blocked thought. Parents/siblings unreliable; fallen flowers establish roots later. Changing ancestral household amid waxing/waning succeeds, rising from forests and streams.”

Six Ji Days at Wuchen Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days at Wuchen hour have Body in position meeting Wealth Spirit. Fields, riches and trust abound; Jia/Yi in framework give Noble Emolument.” Wealth Storehouse occupies an exclusive position. Ji takes Ren/Gui Wealth entering Tomb at Chen while Ji Earth holds position, describing honesty, riches and rank. Monthly connection or Jia/Yi emerging means birth month carries Emolument, great rank. Chen month strong Body receives no parental help; Jia transforming Earth gives great riches. Winter/summer flourishing Wealth generates Office, riches and rank; western fortune ordinary. Jichou day/Wuchen hour solitary. Yin/Mao month flourishing Emolument; Chen with Jia emerging transformed energy noble; Wu substantial riches; Yin/You censorial. Zi/Chou year/month with Jia emerging and southeastern fortune gold-and-purple close attendance; northwest feared for dismissal. Jimao day/Wuchen hour in Mao month censorial; Water/Wood year/month with northeastern fortune likewise. Jisi day/Wuchen hour solitary then rising; spring Office rank, summer stable, autumn violent, winter Wealth flourishing; annual/major fortune alike. Jiwei day/Wuchen hour in Chou Mixed-Qi Wealth/Office auspicious; Yin, Chen, Si, Hai, Wu, or Xu year/month literary distinction. Jiyou day/Wuchen hour has spring flourishing Office, summer ordinary auspiciousness, autumn violence, winter flourishing Wealth. Jihai day/Wuchen hour in Chou Mixed-Qi Wealth/Office noble; Xu month Wood/Water fortune sixth/seventh rank; Yin, Wu, Zi, or Chen year/month greatly noble. A verse says: “Ji day/Chen hour is extraordinary, Money Dragon within guards Storehouse. No Equal/Robbing and auspicious fortune assure rich rank and broad estates.” Another: “Ji day/Wuchen hour has flourishing abundant Storehouse. Flowers fade then honor returns; Chou/Xu punishment/clash flourishes Wealth. Renshen Twofold Beauty of Wealth/Office, repeated wives and late child complete it. Parents/siblings ordinary, independently established fate.”

Six Ji Days at Jisi Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days at Jisi hour harmonize Metal Spirit and Fire. No monthly connection ordinary; connection honors examination rank.” Ji uses Bing Seal, healthy and flourishing within Si. Jisi Metal Spirit sits at Fire, combining. Monthly Fire connection, no Wealth breaking Seal in four pillars and no Wealth fortune develop extraordinary blessing. No connection or winter birth gives empty refinement; southern fortune without connection is also auspicious. Jichou day/Jisi hour in Chen month northwestern fortune noble; Wu/Wei flourishing Fire greatly noble; Shen, Zi, Xu, or Si auspicious. Jimao day/Jisi hour flanks Chen Wealth Storehouse, great riches. Mao uses Si as Post Horse; two Ji considered together is Seated Horse. Wu month further gives Emolument and Horse, especially noble. Hai month flourishing Wealth and Office Long Life, or Si Metal Spirit meeting Fire, greatly noble. Jisi day/Jisi hour with Wu year/month has brilliant power and fame. Spring filial child and worthy wife; autumn/winter ordinary, noble without distinction. Chen/Xu Wealth/Seal/Office/Food or Shen Hurting generating Wealth auspicious. Jiwei day/Jisi hour is Arching Emolument. No Sheep Blade/Seven Killings, Wu filling the position and no Void give distinction as printed. Hai, Chou, Chen, or Shen year/month eastern fortune highest civil/military rank. Inferior to Dingsi/Dingwei because Ding has Proper Emolument, Ji lodged Emolument. Jiyou day/Jisi hour in summer has Metal Spirit enter Fire and distinction; annual/major fortune as above. The Jihai case prints Yichou hour: summer abundant assets, pleasure and loftiness; winter ordinary; Xu month southeastern fortune National Preceptor/gold-and-purple, Yin also noble. A verse says: “Ji day repeated Jisi hour needs properly flourishing Metal Spirit transformation. Southern Li fortune displays Wealth/Office, eastern Yin/Mao is harsh too.” Another: “Ji day/Jisi hour in summer has Bing Fire and Metal Spirit. Without Xu, Hai or Gengshen and no disruption, fame responds. One parent declines, one flourishes; punishment/Void delays work. Distinction changing household comes in southern flourishing-Fire fortune.”

Six Ji Days at Gengwu Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days meeting Wu hour have Emolument returning and prosperity. Office Star in pillars is feared; Concealed Crystal requires another judgment.” Ji sees Geng Hurting Office and Yi Proper Ghost. Exposed Geng upon Wu combines Yi, Hurting combining Killing, indicating independent achievement. No Yi in year/month with Hurting at Defeat, and Jia/Bing in pillars, forms Concealed Crystal; undamaged without clash/disruption gives great rank. Jichou day/Gengwu hour in Yin month noble, summer harmful, autumn violent, winter flourishing Wealth and few children. Jimao day/Gengwu hour has Ji Emolument at Wu; Jia/Bing and Yin/Wu in year/month greatly noble. Mao month flourishing Killing combined by Geng gives power. Jisi day/Gengwu hour noble; Yin/Wu/Xu month Metal Spirit enters Fire, judged Seal and distinguished. Season-ending year/month marquis or earl. Combining-Killing fortune must have a bad end; You month southeastern fortune noble. Jiwei day/Gengwu hour has Turning from Emolument and Hurting Office, punitive kin injury; without disruption late flourishing. Wei/Xu year/month noble. Jihai day/Gengwu hour with Wu/Xu year/month has Wealth, Office, Emolument and Seal, greatly noble. Yin year/Wu month immensely rich; Mao month western fortune noble. A verse says: “Ji meeting Gengwu returns Emolument; no disruption/clash develops blessing. Bing/Shen meeting in pillars enriches virtue in person and Wealth in house.” Another: “Ji day/Gengwu hour is Turning from Emolument and Hurting Office. Clash, punishment, disruption and harm bring many calamities, kin cold as ice and charcoal. Jia/Bing in pillars make leisurely Concealed Crystal. Examination cassia can be climbed; rich rank needs no further calculation.”

Six Ji Days at Xinwei Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days at Xinwei hour gladly meet Food and Office Storehouse. Monthly Wood connection noble, none a rich fate.” Food assists Office: Xin Food, Jia Office, Wei Office Storehouse with exposed Xin and hidden Jia. Support connecting monthly energy gives rank; Food Born/Flourishing surpasses Wealth/Office. Monthly Wood strengthens Office, especially noble; no connection blessing, connected fortune also noble. Jichou day/Xinwei hour rich if not noble; Earth month rich, Wood month noble; another view harmful punishment. Jimao day/Xinwei hour with You, Xu, Hai, Mao or Wei year/month noble, southeastern fortune gold-and-purple. Jisi day/Xinwei hour is Metal Spirit day; Yin/Wu/Xu month noble, Hai/Mao/Chen/Wu with Metal/Fire/Water/Wood fortune greatly noble. Jiwei day/Xinwei hour in spring/summer or Chou month has outstanding appearance, clear speech, high fame and heavy Emolument; autumn/winter ordinary. You month Ji Long Life and Food meeting Emolument give natural enjoyment; another view harmful loss amid rank. A verse says: “Ji day at Xinwei hour's lonely study window is unknown. Flourishing Wealth and Office fortune completes fame/profit: do not resent delay.” Another: “Ji day/Xinwei hour has Food on Office Storehouse needing opening. Chou/Xu punishment/clash reveals Office/Wealth; suppression blocks prospects. Gentlemen's writing receives blessing, commoners excel in trade. A key opens fated blessing; Wealth comes and goes continually.”

Six Ji Days at Renshen Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days at Renshen hour damage Heavenly Origin's incomplete energy. Losing it without support gives poverty or early death, lifespan hard to extend.” Water flourishes and Earth empty. Ji uses Jia Office, Ren Wealth, Geng Turning from Emolument. Geng flourishes, Ren is Born and Jia Extinct at Shen, Ji Earth defeated. Season-ending Earth connection or Earth fortune auspicious. Lost Heaven's time, unsupported and no monthly connection gives poverty or early death, otherwise disability and late distress. Jichou day/Renshen hour with You year/month and Seal emerging rich/noble, courteous and generous. Chen/Xu auspicious; Hai year great Qian-Clear/Kun-Level configuration; Yin/Shen Office/Nobility assisting auspicious. Jimao, written with an Yi-shaped first graph, at Renshen hour in Chen Mixed-Qi Wealth/Office month gives early rank. Hai southern fortune fifth/sixth rank; Yin/Shen year second/third rank. Jisi day/Renshen hour greatly harmful punishment. A verse says: “Ji day at Shen hour best has no disruption/clash. Even no visible Office, flourishing Wealth fixes foundation.” Another: “Renshen hour with Ji day suits three harmonies. Heavenly-Yi and upright Noble assistance should use Wealth/Office for rank. Wu, Ji, Chen and Xu obtain position, broad literary learning matters. Worthy wife, filial child, blessing and writing complete; punishment/disruption unfavorable in middle age.”

Six Ji Days at Guiyou Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days at Guiyou hour have Water/Earth muddy at Bathing. Wealth and Food hidden gather/scatter; weak displaced Body has insecure lifespan.” Gui Wealth and Xin Food: Gui Ill and Xin flourishing at You. Equal seizes Wealth, causing gathering/scattering; declining displaced Body repeated success/failure, otherwise short life. Strong-Body month or fortune auspicious. The Jichou case prints Guihai hour: spring ordinary, summer stable, autumn Complete Injury with authority, winter rich. A printed Bing-Yin-Si monthly phrase has Metal Spirit meeting Fire, noble; Chou Metal/Water fortune bureau office; Yi emerging greatly noble. Jimao day/Guiyou hour has Mao/You day/hour encounter, moving residence; punitive injury and Hurting with Killing give violent character and delayed action. Season-ending months auspicious. Jisi day/Guiyou hour in Si/You/Chou Complete Injury gives military/censorial office. Mao/Xu Metal Spirit entering Fire gives eloquent rank, then injured Nobility: withdraw early, because Water/Earth are defeated at You. Jiwei day/Guiyou hour with Xu, Hai, Chou or Chen year/month and western fortune noble; Zi/Si greatly noble; Mao/Chen close attendance but not great. Jiyou day/Guiyou hour has Indirect Wealth meeting Food, prominence; Chou, Wei, Zi or Wu auspicious; You month inner relatives. Complete Jiyou year/month infringes Shattering Killing, lifelong ruin and unproductive wandering. Jihai day/Guiyou hour with Earth month and Wood/Fire fortune noble. A verse says: “Ji meeting Gui at You hour has Food Born/Flourishing at ease. Weak Body with clash, conquest or disruption is only ordinary.” Another: “Ji day/Guiyou hour's Indirect Wealth gladly meets Food. Siblings unsupported, no parental reliance, disposition unstable. Wealth comes and goes, abundant before the eyes yet hard to keep. Flowers open, fade, renew: adverse first, smooth later.”

Six Ji Days at Jiaxu Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days at Jiaxu hour have wife following husband to transform true Earth. Monthly connection gives deep Emolument, reverse ordinary.” Ji combines Jia Wood into Earth configuration, Earth Spirit gathering refinement and deep Emolument. Without monthly transformation, Jia is Office and Bing Seal, Jia Wood takes form at Xu and Bing Fire combines a configuration. Monthly connection noble; none with punishment, clash, disruption or harm ordinary. Though oneself auspicious, parents lost early. Jichou day/Jiaxu hour harms father through excess. Chen month thick Earth; Si, Wu, printed Mo, and Shen Assuming Office/Imperial Flourishing auspicious. Hai, Xu, Yin or Mao has Earth Ill/Dead, harmful. You/Chen third/fourth rank, middle-age retirement; Hai with Wood/Fire fortune sixth/seventh. Jimao day/Jiaxu hour with Bing, Ding, Wu or Xu year/month, Geng/Xin restraining Office/Killing, born in bright-mountain/refined-water territory second/third rank. A key gives leisurely blessing; Wealth appearing does not gather, like Wood leaves in late autumn.” Another: “Ji day/Jiaxu hour favors wife following husband's transformation. Storehouse Wealth awaits a key; Ren, Shen and Chou spirits bring passage. Parents early lost or solitary, siblings/flowers/fruit hard to harmonize. One timely fortune makes household prosper happily.”

Six Ji Days at Yihai Hour
A verse says: “Six Ji days at Yihai hour have hidden Office and visible Killing, not yet remarkable. Metal restraining Killing is auspicious; weak Body makes harm knowable.” Ji uses Jia Office and Yi Ghost, exposed Yi and hidden Jia at Hai, mixed Office/Killing. Xin restrains Yi, removing Killing and retaining Office; monthly connection gives distinction. Water flourishing and empty Earth at Hai bring wandering, lost occupation, unaccumulated Wealth and repeated success/failure. Body/Ghost balanced is auspicious; no monthly connection but connected fortune also. Jichou day/Yihai hour in Si/You/Chou restrains Killing and retains Office, noble; Wu strong Body also noble; Zi month Fire fortune seventh/eighth rank; Mao/Wei with Xin restraining Yi greatly noble. Jimao day/Yihai hour in Mao Indirect Office month has heavy Killing and yielding Body, judged as Abandoning Self. Hidden Ren gives lofty ambition; restraint in pillars and Earth/Metal fortune third/fourth rank. Chou Mixed Qi; Chen/Si western fortune gold-and-purple; Hai month Water fortune early death. Jisi day/Yihai hour in Yin/Wu/Xu has Metal Spirit enter Fire, noble; Si month northwestern fortune dukes/ministers; Mao/Wu censorial. Pure Zi/Hai year/month Wealth supports Killing, Abandoning Self and great military power. Jiwei day/Yihai hour without punitive disruption or mixing has pure elevation, riches/rank and praiseworthy writing. Jiyou day/Yihai hour spring/summer distinction, autumn excessive restraint impoverished scholar, winter flourishing Wealth. Wu/Si/Xu year/month sixth/seventh rank; Yin month Metal/Fire fortune fourth/fifth. Jihai day/Yihai hour with Xin restraint in year/month noble; without restraint still outstanding. Xu censorial; printed Yi-shaped position also noble; Chou thick Earth third rank. Another view self-punishment and many successes/failures, late riches. A verse says: “Yihai Heavenly Origin in hour has Post Horse/Long Life extraordinary. Strong Body and strong Killing combine blessing/Emolument, fame displayed joyfully.” Another: “Ji day/Yihai hour has Indirect Office gladly meeting Direct Wealth. Strong Body also good, mixed Heavenly Origins halve it. Going, staying, advancing and retreating uncertain, Six Relations/siblings rise and fall. Emolument/Horse fortune naturally brings riches, rank, leisure and freedom.”
